Deleting your Compute account removes your personal access to Compute. It is different from deleting an organization, which removes shared resources, credits, and access for everyone in that organization.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Save important data and resolve your organization membership before continuing.

Before you delete your account

Complete these checks first:
  • Download any data you want to keep from instances you created.
  • Terminate every instance that has not already been terminated, including stopped instances.
  • Save any data you still need before terminating those instances.
  • Leave the organization you currently belong to.
  • If you are the Owner, transfer ownership or delete the organization first.
Compute prevents account deletion while you still own an organization or have any non-terminated instances.
Terminating an instance permanently deletes its local data. Back up anything important before you stop using the account.

Resolve your organization role

If you are the Owner

An Owner cannot delete their personal account while they still control an organization. Choose one of these paths:
  • Keep the organization: Transfer ownership to an Admin, then leave the organization.
  • Remove the organization: Delete the organization after confirming that its resources, data, remaining credits, and pending invitations are no longer needed.
If the person who should become Owner is currently a Member, change them to an Admin first. See Transfer ownership or delete an organization.

If you are an Admin or Member

Leave the organization before deleting your account:
  1. Open Organization from the account menu.
  2. Find your name and open its menu.
  3. Select Leave organization.
  4. Review the consequences and confirm the action.
If Compute reports that you still have instances, open Instances, save any necessary data, terminate the instances, and try again. See Join or leave a Compute organization.

Understand what happens to organization resources

The effect depends on what you do before deleting your account:
  • If you transfer ownership and leave, the organization and its resources remain under the new Owner’s control.
  • If you delete the organization, its instances and data are deleted, remaining credits are lost, and pending invitations are canceled.
  • Leaving or losing access to an organization does not give you continued access to its billing history or shared resources.
Credits belong to the organization. Discuss the remaining balance with the Owner before leaving a shared organization.

Delete your account

After resolving the organization and instance requirements:
  1. Sign in to Compute.
  2. Open the menu next to your account at the bottom of the sidebar.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Find Delete account.
  5. Select Request to delete account.
  6. Review and complete the confirmations shown in the dialog.
  7. Select Delete account to confirm.
You will lose access to the deleted Compute account when the deletion completes.

What account deletion does not affect

Compute currently uses an account separate from Hivenet Store, Send, and other Hivenet services. Deleting your Compute account does not delete files or access associated with those services. To delete your general Hivenet account as well, follow the instructions in the Hivenet Help Center.

If you cannot delete the account

Check the most common blockers:
  • You still own an organization: Transfer ownership or delete the organization.
  • You still have a non-terminated instance: Terminate it and try again.
  • You still belong to an organization: Leave it before returning to Settings.
  • You need help preserving access for other people: Contact Support before changing ownership or deleting anything.

Alternatives to account deletion

Depending on what you are trying to solve, you may be able to:
  • Stop or terminate individual instances.
  • Leave a shared organization.
  • Transfer organization ownership.
  • Turn off auto top-up.
  • Ask the Owner to change your role or remove your access.
Contact Support through the Compute console if you are unsure which option preserves the resources you need.
